What Proxyoku Does
Proxyoku is a rewriting web proxy for public HTTP and HTTPS pages. It retrieves a requested page through the service's current Netherlands route and returns an adapted version to your browser. There is no extension or application to install.
Only pages opened through Proxyoku use this route. Traffic from your other browser tabs, applications, games, email clients, and connected devices is not affected.
What Happens to a Request
- Proxyoku interprets the entry. A complete address or recognizable hostname is opened directly. Other text is sent to Brave Search as a search query.
- A browser session is admitted. The service checks route availability and applies rate limits and abuse controls before creating the session.
- The Netherlands route requests the page. For requests processed through the proxy, the destination receives a connection from the proxy route rather than a direct request from your device.
- The response is adapted. Proxyoku rewrites page links and supporting resources so continued navigation can remain within the proxy path.
Current Route
One route is currently available: Netherlands. Proxyoku does not currently offer a choice between countries or automatic location switching. A Netherlands route can be useful when checking how a public page responds to a request from that route, but it does not guarantee access to any regional catalogue or service. See the live route status.
Important Privacy Boundaries
- It is not an anonymity guarantee. An account login, cookies, browser characteristics, form entries, and information you publish can still identify you.
- It is not a VPN. Proxyoku does not route all traffic from your browser or device.
- Proxyoku is an intermediary. The service must receive the destination address and process page data to fetch and adapt it. For an HTTPS destination, the browser-to-proxy and proxy-to-destination connections are separate.
- It does not make a website safe. A proxy does not verify third-party content, remove scams, or protect an account from phishing.
Avoid entering payment details, highly sensitive personal information, or important account credentials through a third-party web proxy. See the Privacy Policy for information about operational records, analytics, cookies, and proxy-session processing.
Compatibility Is Not Universal
Static public pages are usually simpler to proxy than modern applications. Login systems, CAPTCHAs, DRM-protected media, live connections, downloads, and sites that depend on strict browser-origin rules may fail or behave differently. A page loading correctly once does not guarantee that every feature on that site will work.
Appropriate Uses
- Opening a public page without installing proxy software.
- Checking the public version of a page requested through the Netherlands route.
- Testing whether a public page can be rendered through a rewriting proxy.
Use Proxyoku lawfully, respect destination-site rules, and follow policies that apply to managed networks. The Terms of Service describe prohibited uses and service limits.
Common Questions
Does Proxyoku hide everything I do online?
No. It changes the route only for requests made inside the proxy session. Other traffic remains outside it, and identity signals inside a page may remain visible.
Why does a site look or behave differently?
Proxyoku has to adapt links, resources, headers, and some site behavior. Features that depend on the original website's exact origin or security environment may not survive that process.
Can I select another country?
Not currently. Netherlands is the only available route.
